We are a part of an international Christian youth
organization, which supports the family, serves the community and meets the
needs of girls today. We are the oldest uniformed movement for girls, dating
back to 1893 in Ireland and have been active in Australia since 1927.
Our AIM
Is "To
help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through
self-control, reverence, and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment
of life".
Our MOTTO:
Is to
"Seek, Serve and follow Christ". All activities and studies are
designed to help girls understand its meaning and to live their lives accordingly.
Our CREST:
Is the universal symbol of The Girls' Brigade and is worn by members in countries all
over the world. In the centre is a CROSS, a symbol of Christ and His Church;
below it a LAMP, that our light may shine out upon the world; above it a CROWN,
that we may own Christ as our King; and behind it all, a TORCH, a flame of
Christ's loving Spirit and our devotion to Him.
Our UNIFORM:
Which is
worn by members, is attractive and varies in different parts of the world. It
provides a smart appearance, sense of responsibility and belonging; helps create
discipline and poise; promotes pride in the organization and brings the Brigade
to the attention of the general public.

The LEADERS:
Are
Christian women of all ages, already a vital part of their local church, who
have a love for young people and are keenly interested in working amongst them.
The local church selects and appoints the leaders, while The Girls' Brigade
provides training and practical assistance.
FINANCE:
Members pay
an Annual Fee which enables the ongoing work of The Girls' Brigade to be carried
out.
ACHIEVEMENT & AWARD SYSTEM:
An 'Achievement' is a suggested course of work on a specific subject designed to
help girls:-
-develop their skills & interests.
-improve or extend existing skills & interests.
-learn to work with others.
-be prepared to give themselves in service to others as they become more aware of the world around them.
and
-appreciate how Christ is relevant to all life's
activities.
The awards form the basis for activities used in the Company.
